It’s almost Create Denver Week

Featured Events

Create Denver Week is coming up May 10-13, 2012! This annual event by Create Denver helps support and showcase Denver’s dynamic and talented community by strengthening the overall health and vitality of Denver’s creative sector, including: individual artists and creative enterprises such as film, music, art galleries, art districts, fashion, graphic design. Create Denver Week allows local creatives to partner and re-imagine the City of Denver through temporary experiences that expose opportunity, activate space, test ideas, share knowledge and inspire.

Through a series of programs and happenings, Create Denver Week serves to recognize the creative sector for making Denver vibrant and economically vital, catalyze the community to become a cohesive collective and support it by providing educational programming, inspirational dialogue and ideation. For example, did you know that Denver’s creative sector:

  •  Consists of more than 2,900 for- and non-profit creative enterprises
  •  Employs approximately 19,000 people in the City of Denver
  •  Includes 8 arts districts, more than 120 galleries, 160 performance venues and
    approximately 180 film-related businesses

That’s a lot of creative juice! Whether a not-for-profit theatre company, band, production company or independent artist, creative enterprises contribute greatly to Denver’s quality of life and economy by offering unique experiences to residents and tourists, improving communities, providing jobs, and attracting a talented workforce. So come out and support Denver’s creative community by getting involved. The festivities kick-off Thursday, May 10th at Battery 621 on (6th & Kalamath) in the Art District on Santa Fe.

Be sure to order a 2012 Catalyst Ale while you’re at it. The new, 20 barrel batch ale was brewed especially for Create Denver Week and released on May 8th, 2012. It’s an unfiltered extra pale ale made with 100% Colorado-grown malts, locally grown hops from Voss Farms, and was fermented with the “house” yeast from six different Denver breweries; Wynkoop Brewing, Breckenridge Brewery, Strange Brewing, Renegade Brewing, Denver Beer Co, and Wit’s End Brewing.
